BITUMINOUS EMULSIONS

Protective coatings based on the continuous application (manual / mechanical) of bituminous emulsions with greater or lesser dispersion and/or addition.

Bituminous Emulsion: two phase system made up of bitumen, water and various additives which promote the formation and stabilization of disperse bituminous globules in an aqueous solution. Dispersion of small drops (3 to 10 µ) of a binding hydrocarbon (normally asphalt bitumen) which acts as a disperse or discontinuous phase, in a solution of water and an emulsifying agent (continuous or dispersing phase) of an anionic or cationic nature, which possess active tightening characteristics which allow the production and subsequent stability of the combination.
